About Dr. Schneider
Lori Schneider, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and certified acupuncturist who brings decades of expertise to her integrative practice. She graduated summa cum laude from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned her Doctor of Medicine from NYU School of Medicine. She completed her neurology residency at Albert Einstein School of Medicine/Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Schneider opened her original practice, Lakeside Neurology, in 1994. Over the years, she has been dedicated to treating a wide range of neurological conditions, with a special focus on combining conventional medicine with alternative therapies. Today, through Acupuncture & Wellness MD, she continues to provide high-quality, individualized care with an emphasis on prevention, healing, and patient empowerment.

To honor the integrity of truly holistic care — one that’s free from the constraints of insurance networks — our practice has transitioned to a private-pay model. We are no longer accepting insurance.
This change allows us to:
- Spend more time listening, diagnosing, and treating you as a whole person
- Choose treatments based on your needs rather than what’s covered
- Focus on deeper healing and wellness, guided by empathy and precision
- You will receive a detailed, itemized receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement (depending on your plan). If you have questions about how that works, we are happy to guide you.
